Qi Gong Retreat

Hello,
I have been talking about qi gong lots in my blog and have realized that it may not be clear what qi gong is.  Well, qi gong has been around since Chinese medicine. It is a part of Chinese medicine that involves qi exercises. It strengthens our qi and helps to keep healthy qi in and used qi out. More people have heard of tai chi. Tai chi came from qi gong. Today there are many forms of qi gong that are to be practiced at different times of day, times of month or times of year.
Now for an update on what has been going on in my qi gong training world. A week ago, I finished a 5 day qi gong training/ retreat in Damascus, OR. It was amazing. We learned 2 different forms, golden tree meditation, and walking qi gong. The walking qi gong has evolved over the last 100 years. It is done often in the parks in China by those dealing with cancer or other health issues. In good time I will be sharing and teaching such forms in my acupuncture practice.
I am practicing qi gong daily. So if you are in need of some good qi, come get an acupuncture treatment.
To your health and healing journeys.

Qi Gong

It is officially summer. I welcome the picnics, barbecues, and back yard gardening. This is wonderful.

A couple weeks ago I attended a weekend workshop on Jade Woman Qi Gong. This is the first class in the two year teacher training. The class was taught by Madame Liu He, who is truly amazing. I took a few classes from her when I attended the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine and she blew me away then. Now I begin the journey to make Qi Gong part of my life. My goal is to be able to teach classes with in the next year. The Jade Woman form will definitely be in my tool bag. This form is particular for helping women and the female system. It is not limited to women though. It can also be beneficial to men and prostate health. In just a few weeks it has changed my lift. I feel more calm, centered and able to pay attention for longer periods of time. Now I am curious what will happen after a year then two years.
I will keep you posted on my Qi Gong journey.

To your health,

Weekend Workshop

I just finished a fantastic workshop on the Shang Han Lun. My teachers teacher was here speaking on various aspects of this ancient Chinese herbal text. It was enlightening to be in the presence of a master. I learned about herbal scripts for complicated diseases as well as for children's illnesses. I truely believe this is the heart of Chinese medicine. We have to know the classics to prescribe for our future.

Rainy Portland

This rain has bogged down my momentum. I am clicking along at a relatively slow pace today.

The new office is almost finished being painted. I will start moving in some things this Sunday. I am so excited to decorate and add curtains and color.

Soon. I am moving all the stuff from Jade to Acupuncture on Broadway April 24th. Ahhh....

Thanks,
Peace within the rain

Design and decorating

I have been busy getting things ready. It is very soon that I will be able to load things into the new office space. My last day at Jade Acupuncture is April 23, 2011. This is not so far away. I am so excited for every one to see the space.

One of my favorite parts is that as you enter the wooden gate from Broadway, you walk into an amazing Portland city garden. There is a giant fig tree that come September, is going to be very tasty. The garden will offer a wonderful shady waiting area.

Spring Changes

Hi,
Happy spring every one. As the weather gets nice we start to clean out our closets or clean up our yard. It is the time for emerging out of the winter shell. We begin to socialize more and get out and do more.

Big changes are happening for me and my practice. I am opening Acupuncture on Broadway the last week in April 2011. Year of the rabbit is a perfect time to make and fine tune those business decisions. Acupuncture on Broadway is located at 2933 NE Broadway. It is on the corner of 30th and Broadway in NE Portland. I am very excited to show off the space.

Please join me this spring to warm up the new office.

Peace,
